Our longtime friends at Matinee Recordings released our final single on 7″ vinyl last week, with lovely artwork by Olympia artist Jimmy Ulvenes. It comes from a place of deep sadness for the loss of James, but also honor in helping carry his spirit forward in these songs.
We recognize how fortunate we’ve been to hang around for 15 years and make music together. It literally changed our lives, and we’re grateful to you for being part of it.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must share that our friend and bandmate James has passed away after his battle with cancer.
We realize this will be a surprise to most of you since we had not previously shared news of his illness, as was his wish.
It’s almost impossible to fathom no longer having James in our lives, but we are so grateful for all the recordings, photos, videos, and memories we get to keep.
Thank you so much for your support and friendship over these many years. James never lost his sense of awe about the fact that people wanted to listen to our music. So many lovely messages and interactions with people all over the world. It was an amazing gift that meant so much to him, and to all of us.
With deep sadness and gratitude,
Charles, Ethan, Kevin
‘All the Mains are Down’ is the first single from our new album, titled ‘Lived Here Before’ (out January 26). Check it out below on Soundcloud, and if you just can’t possibly wait for the album then you can buy the digital single from your favorite online music outlet (iTunes, Amazon, etc.).
We’re thrilled to be part of yet another ace compilation from Matinee Recordings called Matinee Idols. Our contribution is a previously unreleased song called ‘Shadows Longer’ that we recorded a couple years ago at the same time as ‘Coastal California 1985.’ And of course the compilation also includes a truck load of great pop songs from our esteemed labelmates. You can listen to Shadows Longer on Soundcloud below, and pick up a copy of Matinee Idols from the Matinee shop!
We’re dead excited to announce a new album we’ve been working on for years, literally.
In This Together is a 16-track compilation of EPs, b-sides, rarities and unreleased songs from our 10+ years as a band, including this brand spanking new one called Coastal California, 1985:
Our friends at Matinee Recordings (USA) and Fika Recordings (UK) were kind enough to help us put together something special for this release. The CD comes tucked into a 6-panel eco-wallet and the LP is on heavyweight cream vinyl with a gatefold sleeve, both featuring some of our favorite band photos plus liner notes by our pal Sean Tollefson of Tullycraft.
CD, LP, and digital versions are available for pre-order now!
